Vision Boards

As The year comes to an end, I recommend everyone takes the time to create a vision board. It can be as straightforward or as elaborate as you wish. I started doing vision boards in 2020. It was the highlight of one girl's night in with a bottle of wine. We got super crafty with old seventeen and vogue magazines. I remember I desperately wanted to feel happy when I wrote the words Happy in the center of the board. My life at that time, as you know, was a complete shit show.. Then I saw the picture of a Honda Civic, which I had vowed would be my first adult car I would pay for when I had an adult job. Then I continued to search through piles of magazines and found a cooking recipe, and I thought cooking is something I want to learn.. disclaimer that is still a goal I have yet to tackle. I then saw a picture of some girl in her twenties office space with a few sketches of dresses, and again came the I could start my own brand idea… The point is I had a visual representation of my goals.

I also have created digital ones on Canva and have saved them as my screensaver. Here is the thing whether you believe in manifesting or not a visual is a reminder of your goal daily. If you see it every day you will have it fresh in your mind.

In 2021 I totaled my old car in a car accident, my brakes failed.. and I took it as an opportunity to get my Civic. I had wanted this car since I was sixteen when my college friend was teaching me how to drive and would let me drive hers. I remember it drove smoothly, it had a backup camera and It didn’t make noise. That was vivid in my mind and it keep me focused on my goal. It is also gas friendly, and commuting from LA it was the perfect car for me and still is.

What has worked for me is having my vision board every year somewhere I can see it. Last year’s was my screen saver, I had grow my brand, develop self-care and healthy habits, exercised and eat healthier, go back to school for my BA, network and meet people and also help and advocate for causes that are meaningful to me. Today I am closer to those goals than I was when I created my board.

So now its your turn; give it a try. The worst that can happen is it's a waste of time..right. Make it your girl's night in theme!
